Dementia

Dementia Diagnosis, Treatment, and Management for Primary Care Teams

This course consists of 6 Units which have been created to assist primary care teams and others with the diagnosis, treatment, care and management of Alzheimer's Disease and other types of dementia including caregiver support. CMIEs available, see details below**. This course is available until June 2025.

Course is for Providers (MD, DO, NP, PA, SW for credit) and other healthcare providers. 

Topics include General approach to cognitive complaints, dementia differential diagnosis, retirement from driving, caregiver support resources, prevention and management of dementia.

The courses were developed through a partnership between OneCare Vermont, the Department of Health Access, Blueprint, and the Vermont Department of Health.

**The University of Vermont designates this live activity for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This program has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to six (6) Nursing Contact Hours.

This course has been approved for 0.5 hours of pharmacy continuing education credit.

The Robert Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria.  This activity is designated for 6 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.  As a Jointly Accredited Organization, The Robert Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. The University of Vermont maintains responsibility for this course. The Vermont Program for Quality in Healthcare (VPQHC) presents a six-part training series designed to equip teams with practical skills to drive meaningful quality improvement in your organization. Each 90-minute session builds upon the last, providing a comprehensive QI skill development pathway. Participants are encouraged to attend all six, though it’s not required. Series runs through June 17, 2025
