No Waiting for Hub Opioid Treatment

14 September 2017

Now, for the first time, Vermonters in every part of the state are able to immediately begin treatment for opioid addiction at a Hub, a Regional Opioid Treatment Center that provides daily support for people with complex addictions. Just two years ago, the waitlist in the Burlington, Vermont area was several hundred people long, and it could take over a year to get access to opioid addiction treatment. Today, nobody has to wait to begin getting well. Cooperation between the state, providers at the Howard Center, UVM Medical Center, the Community Health Centers of Burlington, private practices, the City of Burlington, law enforcement, the State's Attorney, and many others has broken through the barriers to treatment-on-demand.
