Blueprint Hospital Service Area (HSA) Healthcare Data Profiles
The Vermont Blueprint for Health’s Hospital Service Area (HSA) Profiles provide policymakers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders with information on healthcare expenditures, utilization, and care quality measures at the HSA level. These HSA profiles are based on all-payer claims data which has been linked to available clinical data and aggregate survey data. (Approximately 83% of DocSite clinical data registry IDs were able to be matched to a VHCURES member.) A subset of the clinical data, sometimes a very small proportion of that data, is usable for the strictly-defined measures or comparisons being used in the profiles.
It is important to understand that in certain cases, a number of practice sites within a given HSA were either not contributing to the Docsite clinical data registry by choice or were in the process of establishing interfaces to contribute data to the Docsite registry during the reporting period. In each case only claims data can be used in the measure sets for these practices.
For further details on the methodology behind these profiles, please refer to the Supporting Documentation specific to each year's set of profiles below.
